U-Boat’s Capsule series takes inspiration from 1930s bathyspheres and steampunk aesthetics, merging past and future design elements into a striking modern piece. The 50mm stainless steel case houses a deep black metal dial with three superimposed layers and a unique opening on leverage, offering an intriguing view beneath a scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal. The dial is sealed to the case with an external bezel fastened by 5 screws, and a long side window wraps around the circumference, offering an alternate perspective of the dial reminiscent of Jules Verne’s imaginary underwater worlds viewed through a bathysphere’s porthole. The watch features luminescent baton hands, indices, and Arabic numerals at 4, 8, and 12 o’clock, all treated with beige Super-LumiNova® for enhanced visibility. Equipped with a lefty screw-down crown, the watch showcases a distinctive “canteen” crown protector and patented lever system at the 10 o’clock position, as well as a discreet date aperture at 9 o’clock. Finished with a brown leather strap secured by a stainless steel buckle, this watch offers a versatile and casual look. A solid caseback, engraved with a bathysphere submersible design and numbered with the limited edition details, seals the Sellita caliber SW 200, a Swiss automatic movement.
